It won't blow you away with its Athlon Silver 3050U processor, 128GB of eMMC storage, or low-res display, but according to our friends over at PCMag(opens in a new tab) (which is owned by Mashable's publisher, Ziff Davis), this 15-inch Lenovo laptop from 2022 earns points for its all-day battery life and durable build. A deal at Best Buy(opens in a new tab) makes it a good value: You'll pay just $199.99 instead of its usual $329.99 MSRP, which is a $30 price drop since last week. Note that it comes with three free months of Xbox Game Pass (worth $29.97), though we wouldn't recommend playing any games on it besides The Sims or Minecraft on low graphics settings.

The latest Lenovo Yoga 7i is a slim, 16-inch convertible laptop with this year's 13th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, a bright 16:10, 60Hz display, smart facial recognition, and a battery life of up to 12.5 hours per charge. Head to Best Buy(opens in a new tab) to snag the base configuration with 8GB of RAM and a hefty 512GB of storage on sale for just $549.99, which takes 31% off its suggested retail price of $799.99.

This is the 13-inch MacBook Air from 2020 with an M1 chip, a sleek fanless design, and an 18-hour battery life — you may recall it nabbing a Mashable Choice Award upon release. Its 256GB configuration is on sale at the record-low price of $799.99 at Amazon(opens in a new tab), which is about $200 off its usual retail price of $999. You won't find a cheaper MacBook anywhere unless you go the used/refurbished route.

We're finally seeing some decent non-trade-in deals on the new Galaxy Book3 series during this month's Discover Samsung Summer Event(opens in a new tab). The entry-level model is the Galaxy Book3, a lightweight traditional laptop featuring a snappy 13th-gen Intel Core i7 processor and a 15.6-inch full HD display with a wide 16:9 aspect ratio. Its Intel Arc GPU configuration with 512GB of storage is down to $949.99 (normally $1,199.99), a deal that Best Buy(opens in a new tab) was matching at the time of writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are several times throughout the year when we see extra-low prices on laptops:

  • Around Amazon Prime Day, which generally happens in mid-July

  • During back-to-school sales in July and August

  • When retailers' Black Friday and holiday deals are in full swing from October to December

Laptops also tend to get cheaper just after manufacturers announce next-generation models. With that in mind, keep an eye out for some additional price drops on older MacBooks as Apple gears up for the rumored launch of a 15-inch MacBook Air (among other new devices) at its annual Worldwide Developer Conference on June 5.

We find the best laptop deals at major retailers like Best Buy and Amazon (and occasionally Walmart). But because they often inflate original list prices to make discounts look better than they actually are, we also cross-check their offers with manufacturers' direct websites. Many of them are usually running sales of their own, too.

We're partial to Acer, Apple, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft, MSI, Razer, and Samsung: They're reputable brands that typically tick most (or all) of the right boxes when it comes to innovative features, durable build quality, customer support, and overall value.
