Blumhouse has released the first teaser trailer for the long-awaited Five Nights at Freddy's film adaptation, featuring creepy animatronics and egregious violations of workplace safety laws.

Based on the phenomenally popular survival horror game franchise, Five Nights at Freddy's follows Mike (Josh Hutcherson), a new security guard taking the night shift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. Unfortunately, he soon discovers that the family fun center is neither family-friendly nor fun, as its animatronic performers become significantly more murderous after nightfall.

The film's cast also includes Elizabeth Lail, Kat Conner Sterling, Piper Rubio, and Mary Stuart Masterson, as well as Matthew Lillard as William Afton — a character that will be very familiar to Five Nights at Freddy's fans. The child-unsafe animatronic cast was created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

Five Nights at Freddy's arrives Oct. 27 both in cinemas and on Peacock.
