Having a spiritually- or supernaturally-gifted friend makes your life more magical by association (and probably makes it smell better).

The best physical token of appreciation you could give them, then, is something that meshes with their kind of mysticism.

The key is knowing what kind of craft they practice. Do they prefer no one speaks to them before they've had their coffee morning tarot pull? Does the entrance to their home smell like cinnamon on the first day of every month? Would they rather leave the house without their phone than without their carnelian?

Your friend doesn't necessarily have to identify as a witch to incorporate one of these gifts into their daily spiritual practice. Understanding the root of their practice — and ensuring that your gift doesn't feed into harmful mainstream-ification or appropriation of said practice — makes it easy to pick a winner.

Whatever their brand, we've gathered a ton of unique gift options below — ones that may be less obvious than another tarot deck or some new crystals.

Astrology flash cards (opens in a new tab)

Best for astrology beginners

Astrology newbies will get serious use out of Kaleidadope's Astrol-OG deck. These holographic cards act as a cosmic study guide for reading a chart or understanding current transits, from planets and houses to more nitty-gritty puzzle pieces like aspects and asteroids. Pull two cards at once to see how the energies conspire, like moon in Scorpio or Jupiter trine Venus.

Best for self-care

A more luxurious approach to ritual baths than a cluttered Google search, this hardcover book features 16 bath and shower rituals that align daily self-care with the lunar cycles. Reviewers mention that the recipes in Moon Bath are easy to follow and accompanied by beautiful photography. The art on the front is just as pretty, making it a great coffee table book.

Just some little jars (opens in a new tab)

Best for the friend who makes a spell jar for everything

One thing about your witchy friend? They're gonna arm their home with a bunch of teeny-tiny jars. Spell jars or witch bottles are exactly what they sound like: a way to physically bottle up the intentions of a spell or manifestation with the properties of different herbs, spices, or crystals. This pack includes 44 mini glass bottles in multiple sizes, complete with corks, a roll of twine, and two funnels.

Best for the kitchen witch

For the practitioners who prefer homemade magic over store-bought, a nice mortar and pestle will be much appreciated. This heavy granite set is unpolished and ready for seasoning ahead of grinding up a new herb concoction — or making homemade guac.
Eight reed diffuser bottles with tarot card designs

A tarot-themed reed diffuser (opens in a new tab)

Best for tarot readers

If you happen to know the card they love to pull, Sow the Magic may have slapped it on a super-cute reed diffuser. Choose from The Moon, The Sun, The Empress, The Lovers, Strength, and more, each paired with a distinct plant-based scent that matches that card's aura.
Two mini brooms and succulent on fur rug

A mini scented broom (opens in a new tab)

Best under $10

Gifting to a whole friend group? Mini scented brooms will be a hit. They go viral on TikTok every Halloween for smelling delish and being generally precious, but you know the modern witch will hang them year-round for protection, luck, or getting rid of guests who can't take a hint. Choose from cinnamon, rose, frankincense and myrrh, and more.

Really nice gel pens (opens in a new tab)

Best for a juicy journaling experience

Journaling — whether that's scripting, shadow work, or a cathartic brain dump — is one of the simplest daily tools to get more in touch with inner magic. Juicy pens make the session all the more energizing. Muji's .38 mm gel ink ballpoint pens get great marks for smooth application and crisp lines. This set comes with nine fun colors.
Three plants sitting on windowsill

A plant (opens in a new tab)

Best for the green witch

Aside from the cozy-fying abilities of indoor greenery, a plant can appeal to witchcraft's (or another spiritual practice's) roots in nature. Make it more personal with an intention: Try a jade plant to help channel wealth and prosperity or a hanging pothos for inspiration and positivity during a rough time.

A selenite incense holder (opens in a new tab)

Best housewarming gift

Burning incense is a great way to cleanse a new space. Speaking of cleansing, these incense holders also happen to be made from selenite: a spiritual go-to for purifying and crystal charging. Personalize it with an engraved pattern, like the moon phases or a Luna moth.

Celestial stained glass decor (opens in a new tab)

Best for those with empty wall space

Things in a witchy home that just make sense: moon-themed everything. Stained glass is a particularly dreamy form of art, making this opalescent moon with stars the perfect addition to a bedroom. Each piece is one of a kind and comes ready to hang.

Colorful, unscented candles (opens in a new tab)

Best for intention setting

Restocking their spell candle inventory is always a practical way to go. This mega pack of 80 four-inch tapered candles covers 10 colors, giving them options to match the intention they're setting. The candles are unscented and ready for anointing.
Assorted framed photos and framed blue butterfly on mantle

A framed butterfly (opens in a new tab)

Best for oddity enthusiasts

Cross "giving a dead bug as a gift" off your life bingo card. Like the Death card in tarot, butterflies symbolize the growth that can happen once you shed old baggage. Taxidermy is a way to permanently encapsulate that sentiment. (It also happens to make really pretty decor.) These are hand-framed by Entomologist and Etsy seller BugUnderGlass, who uses the art as a way to educate about conservation.
Coasters made from blue agate on hardwood table

Crystal coasters (opens in a new tab)

Best for the crystal collector

Unless they're new to the practice, the witch on your list is probably set on loose crystals. Coasters are a chic way to still work crystal magic into your gift, though, especially for housewarming. TheCrushedCrystal offers a range of agate geode coasters in different colors, plus multiple rose quartz options.
Hands holding bags of tea with cup of tea and kettle in peripherals

A loose-leaf tea subscription (opens in a new tab)

Best for non-coffee drinkers

Tea is another way to harness the properties of certain herbs — like a sippable spell. Give the gift of unique new flavors each month with an Atlas Tea Club subscription, which pulls small-batch, loose-leaf blends from family-owned farms around the world. Pay a flat fee for a three-month subscription or surprise them with a box for $14/month for the year.

Credit: KAAYMOND

An angel number necklace (opens in a new tab)

Best for someone who thinks everything is a sign (because it is)

For all of the 4:44s that pass without a microwave in sight to catch a casual glance, a necklace sporting their favorite angel number can offer a dose of affirmation. These tarnish-resistant 18K gold-filled and stainless steel necklaces can be customized by chain style, length, and numbers 111 through 999.
